Boston

I have to admit, I've been stuck in a bit of a rut...  I love taking portraits!  One person can make so many different faces and do so many different things that I think portraits never get boring.  On the other hand, I'd really like explore some other areas of photography.

One goal I've had this year it to spend more time photographing things other than people.  I'm always fascinated when someone takes a different angle or perspective to see something ordinary.  With that in mind, I did my best to drive my husband crazy while I took tons of pictures on our vacation to Boston last week.  Of course, it was a lot easier to take all these pictures without the kids in tow.  :-)

Here are a few of my favorites!

These photos taken were taken near the finish line of the Boston Marathon.  The impromptu memorial had been removed before our visit so it was nice to see this memorial.  Thousands of pieces of fabric had been tied to this fence surrounding a church on Boylston.

These two were from the Gardens.  This was in the early evening and the light was beautiful.

It was pretty cute seeing the kids throwing stones to "feed" the ducklings.  The ducks never tired of trying to catch them either.  Silly animals!

We spent Friday in Rockport, MA and Glocester, MA with my awesome cousin Rachael and her boyfriend!  What a fun (and very hot) day!

A few miscellaneous shots in the city.

My husband's Alma Mater!

Mike asked me to take this picture.  Apparently they had pretty cheap pizzas when Mike was in school.  Unfortunately, Mike watched worker clean the pizza oven out with a floor mop one night.  Needless to say, we did not make this one of our dinner destinations!

And finally... because it's Sam Adams :-)  Brewery tour was a fun and the beer was pretty tasty too!
